Wee-Wee was constructed over the Summer of 1968 on an enormous barge anchored twelve miles off the coast of Miami. It consisted of a sophisticated adult-sized jungle-gym with a bar and music stage attached and is said to have accommodated 200 guests. William Flintrock used to shoot skeet off the bow, often substituting the clay pigeons with his empty beer bottles.
Although never proven, The League of Gnomes was suspected of the arson. As the incident occurred in international waters, however, no U.S. law-enforcement agency took an interest in the case. On Halloween Day, 1970, Flintrock, Cable, Kessar, Cappy Trowbridge and Jonathan Trenchwheat were arrested while attempting to dynamite the Gnomes Grotto in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The charges were later dropped when the "dynamite" was found to be loaded with tiny handbills depicting the unopened head of Guvernor Morris. It is thought that this series of events led to the cessation of public activity by the Gnomes by the end of 1971. See Also |
