Witte arrived in America at the tender age of fourteen. His family first attempted to stay in Brooklyn, but emigrated to Miami 3 years later. Witte's Deli became known throughout the city and the family prospered. Unfortunately his father had a weakness for that old "daevil's clawe" known as [http://www.pagat.com/whist/whist.html |whist] and he ruined the family.
