--Adkins 09:10, 11 Jul 2005 (EDT) Weird, I couldn't save this discussion page at first, but it seems to be behaving now. Anyway, I've formatted this thing into a very tentative shape. I think everything, from the name of the page to the titles of the classifications and the classifications themselves, is up for graps. I'm not so happy with the text and each one could use a bit more punch, nothing to complex but definitely honed. I think it's a good start at orienting the new visitor but it's still pretty rough. Please have at it. | --Adkins 09:10, 11 Jul 2005 (EDT) Weird, I couldn't save this discussion page at first, but it seems to be behaving now. + | --Undule 21:09, 12 Jul 2005 (EDT) steve, don't you think it's a little silly to have an anthology type page where the excerpts are only a few sentences short of the full article? What's the point?--Undule 21:26, 12 Jul 2005 (EDT) This one works better for me, probably due to the relative lack of images. I could almost be convinced it could work. The font changes I don't like, and there should be something akin to the color breakup represented on the other pages with the desiderata bar. | ||

+ | --Adkins 06:39, 13 Jul 2005 (EDT) Yeah, the lead-ins should definitely be trimmed down. That said, as much as I've enjoyed wrestling with this thing, I'm not satisfied with the result yet. I can't over-emphasize the tentative nature of this page, both format and content-wise. Sometimes I find myself wondering if it would be better simply to create sub categories, ie Clampers, Foes etc. and organize the Personages in that way. On the other hand, this has an attractiveness to it that the category pages lack. My plan is to continue to shape it up regarding content and make a few stabs at reformatting it. In both regards it could definitely benefit from everybody's input. Also, how are these portals to be introduced? Do we simply create a sidebar on the main page and a link from the Personages cat page? All in all, I'm glad we're tackling the concept because it's something we've been on about since the beginning; at least we're getting to a point where we can give the neophyte an idea of where these people fit in to the overall sceme of things. |
