Blacky was a horse that came out of the Double A ranch run by Mazzistow Carrington's cousin Elysius. It won seventeen major races and broke its leg in the 1939 Preakness. The poor thing was shot in the head and fed to the dogs on an undisclosed farm on July 6, 1941.
